GIF Sundsvall and AFC Eskilstuna played for their survival in Allsvenskan but were relegated after a loss. Kolbeinn Sigþórsson gave AIK the lead against GIF Sundsvall at home at Friends Arena, before Johan Blomberg equalized for the away team with a quarter left. Then Giffarna needed a goal to have a continued chance to stay in Allsvenskan, but they did not succeed. Instead, Henok Goitom made it 2-1, which also became the final result. Tony Gustavsson said after the match that he is proud of his players who gave everything they had. AIK away is a tough match and Giffarna were close to winning. The result meant that GIF Sundsvall was relegated to Superettan along with AFC Eskilstuna. Falkenberg managed to defeat AFC 1-0, which means they avoid qualifying and play Allsvenskan football in 2020. Kalmar suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Sirius away and will have to qualify. Giffarna will play in Superettan next season and hope to be able to return to Allsvenskan soon. Tony Gustavsson and his players will work hard to improve the team and get back to the top division.
