Oliver Grenholm has never played a competitive match for GIF Sundsvall, despite signing a three-year contract with the club before the 2024 season. Two months later, he felt that the club stopped caring about him. Grenholm says he was surprised that the club wanted to claim his compensation, and that he didn't understand why they didn't want to continue having him in the team. "The only thing they talked about was claiming the salary, otherwise they didn't care", says Grenholm. Grenholm went all the way through Skellefteå FF's academy before he took the step up to the A-team, and there he quickly became one of the team's leading offensive players. The big breakthrough came in the seasons 2022 and 2023, when the fast winger established himself as a top player in the second division. The reward came also in the form of a three-year contract with GIF Sundsvall, who at the time were also playing in the second division. Grenholm is now 23 years old and has never played a competitive match for GIF Sundsvall.
