GIF Sundsvall is searching for a new head coach after Erol Ates was sacked. 32-year-old Ates was sacked for over two weeks ago. Ion Doros is currently leading the team, but must be replaced within 60 days as he lacks the necessary license. According to ST-sporten, GIF Sundsvall is seeking help from former national team coach Lars Lagerbäck. – I have had a chat with Joel (Cedergren), so we have a dialogue and will continue to have it, says 77-year-old Lagerbäck to the newspaper. Lagerbäck will help with the search for a new coach, but not only. – The first time we talked was a general chat about coaches but also tactics, it's about bouncing around some ideas and thoughts. I'm happy to act as a sounding board, says Lagerbäck to ST-sporten. When asked if he was offered to take over as head coach, Lagerbäck replied: – When you reach a certain age, you know your limitations.
