Houston Dynamo Loan Joe Corona to GIF Sundsvall
Houston Dynamo FC have loaned midfielder Joe Corona to Swedish top-division side GIF Sundsvall through 2022, as announced in a club statement on Tuesday. The move comes after the player was waived by Houston and utilized their one offseason buyout.
Joe Corona, who turned 31 in February, joined Houston last winter following his selection by Austin FC in Stage 2 of the MLS Re-Entry Process. Under former head coach Tab Ramos, he made 30 appearances (19 starts) and provided two assists.
General manager Pat Onstad expressed gratitude for Corona's time at the club: 'Joe is a top professional with great character. We are grateful for his time at the club and wish him well with the next steps of his career.'
